(More customer reviews)Back problems made cleaning conventional litter boxes a real pain.I wanted to switch to a Littermaid automatic box with cabinet, but my normally mellow kitty is terrified of most electronic devices, so any automatic box would be avoided along with the room that housed it.I saw this manual cabinet and it addressed most of my issues.The box is at a comfortable height for scooping and the disposal chute is inches from the box. No more messy bags of urine balls sitting near the box! Once the cover is replaced, there is no odor from the dump bag. One half of the cabinet holds the bag with litter waste, while the other side contains your scoop, extra litter, deodorant, etc. Very neat and tidy!The waste bag holds over a month's worth of waste for two active kitties. The only downside is that my Luddite kitty was scared off by the nearly silent fan in the hood. Even with it turned off, she refused to go inside. Finally, I relented and removed the entire fan unit.This opened up both ends of the hood, which both cats loved! They can go in one side and jump out the other when done. I do recommend buying the hood. Without the cover in place, kitty can spray urine over the side and down your walls.This happened when my little girl used the box while I was cleaning the lid. I also put a small two-level carpeted cat house, from their kitten days, next to the cabinet. Now they don't need to jump directly onto the narrow plastic shelf.Sure, this cabinet seems a little pricey for something so low tech, but not having to bend in half to scoop the box means life is so much easier for me!I don't dread box scooping and keep it much cleaner.This one is a total win-win purchase for both kitty and me! Highly recommended for anyone with back problems or mobility issues!
