The clumps form in about a minute, but will harden and stick to the bottom of the box if you don't remove every day--incentive to keep the box clean every day. Baking soda layered on the bottom of the box will help this. The litter is flushable because there are no cement compounds in this litter--important because they can harm your cat by lodging in the digestive track as they groom themselves.
