(More customer reviews)I got this item on a pretty good sale and for the price I am pleased with it. I have removed the door from the front (I wanted no discouragement for the kitten to use it). I cannot speak on if the carbon filters work or not, the kitten seems to enjoy periodically shredding them but I figure that they are probably better than nothing. It has two latches on either side, I guess to secure the hood, but since I use litter liners and didn't the latches poking holes in them I just set the hood in the grooves of the box, I have had no problems with the hood or the box by doing this.
This box seems rather large, I have it sitting in a barely used bathroom and it takes up a decent portion of floor space so I wouldn't recommend to someone with space constraints. It seems like it cleans up rather well I have had no problems with stains.
So its a litter box and it works.
